Hi, I’m Esther!

Whether you’re living with chronic illness, anxiety, or the exhaustion that comes with having to function despite these hidden struggles, my goal is for our time together to be a place for you to be seen, understood, and supported as you work towards what matters most to you.

I became a therapist to help people break their cycle of not getting the help they deserve. I believe that each person needs and deserves a personalized and holistic treatment approach and I am a huge fan of working collaboratively with other supportive services (e.g. doctors, groups, family…) to help you to start hitting your goals.

Medical Trauma

“I am so tired of my experiences being dismissed.”

“Asking for help has only made things worse before.”

“Therapy hasn't ever actually done anything for me.”

“I don’t want to be judged for what is happening with me.”

“Why is this impacting me so much?”

“I don’t want to explain this to yet another person.”

  • Person wearing a beige sweater sitting at a wooden table, holding a smartphone with both hands, with a glass of water on the right side.

    Stage 1

    Consultation

Our first conversation is about finding out if we’re the right fit for each other. The consultation is a casual and free 15 minute phone or video call where we will get to know each other a bit and answer any questions you have.

  • Person in denim jacket working on a Microsoft Surface laptop by a window.

    Stage 2

    Intake and Treatment Planning

Our next step is making sure we’re on the same page about what you’re looking for, what feels most important to focus on, and what support would be the best fit for you. We’ll use this info to create a (flexible) roadmap for our work together.

  • Person wearing a plaid shirt sitting on a couch and typing on a white laptop.

    Stage 3

    Collaborative Sessions

Going forward, we’ll explore patterns, build skills, and make progress toward your goals. Each session adapts to what you need that week while keeping us grounded in the direction you’ve chosen.

My goal is to help you move toward the changes that matter to you most. Because each person and therapist is different, our consultation is a chance to see if we’re the right match and to make sure we both feel hopeful that our work together can bring relief and growth.

 faqs about therapy

  • Therapy is for anyone who wants support in navigating life with more confidence and resilience. If you’re carrying grief, adjusting to changes in your body, living with pain or illness, or simply feeling ready to understand yourself in new ways, therapy can help. Together, we’ll build on the strengths you already have, explore what’s getting in the way, and create practical tools to support your healing and growth.

  • Therapy can support you through many different experiences. In my practice, I work with people navigating grief- whether it’s from coping with changes in their bodies, living with an anxiety disorder, experiencing the loss of a pet, or other life transitions that feel overwhelming. Whether you want to process what has happened, build coping skills, or create new ways to care for yourself, therapy offers a space with more support and a different perspective so that you can move forward.

  • Above all, therapy is YOUR time. We won’t do anything unless you’re completely on board, and will constantly check in to see that you are finding a balance between being comfortable and meeting goals. In general, we talk about what you are experiencing and work together to understand your needs and goals. We build coping tools, strengthen your existing skills, and find new ways to support your wellbeing. Sessions may include reflection, education, and practical strategies you can use in daily life.

  • Friends and family can (and should!) offer care and support, but therapy provides something different. A therapist is trained to help you explore what is happening beneath the surface, understand patterns, and create change in a way that is intentional and focused on your growth. Sessions are confidential and centered entirely on you, without judgment or expectations. Therapy gives you space to be fully honest about your experiences, including the parts that might feel too heavy or complicated to share elsewhere, and helps you build tools and insights that support lasting healing.

  • Yes! Research supports the idea that therapy delivered via video or telehealth can work just as well as in-person therapy for many people. Here are some notable studies:

    • For anxiety disorders, telehealth sessions produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy at post-treatment and in follow-ups (3, 6, 12 months), including symptom reduction, client satisfaction, and functioning. PubMed

    • Therapist-guided remote CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) has been found to be “non-inferior” to in-person CBT across a variety of conditions including depression, anxiety, chronic pain, and insomnia. CMAJ

    • Both telehealth and in-person showed significant improvements in pain interference, severity, depression, anxiety, etc. The telehealth delivery was found non-inferior on primary outcomes. PubMed

Telehealth is not only evidence-based, it also adapts to your life, making therapy accessible, comfortable, and practical while supporting the same meaningful outcomes as in-person care.
